Welcome to the South Carolina Sporting Clays Association.

Our Purpose:

The promotion and encouragement of organized sporting clays shooting among the residents of the state of South Carolina. To increase among SCSCA members the knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms as well as improved shotgun marksmanship.

To forward the development of those characteristics of honesty, fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance, which are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism.

Sporting Clays is often describes as golf with a shotgun. We disagree, Sporting Clays is a lot more fun than Golf and pays big dividends come September when dove season opens. Join us in this exciting and fun sport, the fastest growing shooting sport in the country.

State Championship

Congratulations to Rick Hemingway, the 2007 South Carolina Sporting Clays Champion. The State Shoot was a huge success, with over 200 shooters competing in a full slate of events with awesome targets set by Joe Cantey. The weather was fantastic, we avoided the forecast rains and had the first "cool" temperatures of the fall. The Saturday night dinner and party, featuring live "Beach Music" and a turbo-charged Margarita Machine, was a big time. All in all, the team at Hermitage Farm did a FANTASTIC job hosting this premier event for South Carolina Shooters. Please find full results by selecting the "Results" section on the left side of your screen and following the link to the State Shoot Results.

During the Annual Membership Meeting, held after shooting on Saturday afternoon, the membership present voted to have Hermitage Farm host the 2008 State Championship.

Thanks to all Participants, Sponsors and the Hermitage Farm team for a great time.

Circuit Race Rule Change

After reviewing feedback from shooters regarding the Super Shoot-off feature of the Circuit Shoots at Clinton House and Harris Springs this year, your Board of Directors has decided to discontinue the Super Shoot-off feature. Results from Clinton House will be calculated using the Super Shoot-off results as this was the rule in effect at the time of the shoot and the Shoot-off was completed. Results from Harris Springs will be calculated without the Super Shoot-off results as the Shoot-off had to be abandoned due to ugly weather. The Rules have been updated to reflect this change.

Your Board will continue to seek and implement ideas to improve the experience of the Circuit Points Race. Please contact any Board Member if you have ideas for improvement. After debate, we are anxious to try new ideas and will assess their success and then decide to continue or to abandon them.

Thanks for your support.

Shoot safe.
